LAB is a series of decorative and functional objects, which embrace the idea of home farming, thus allowing people to grow herbs, vegetables and mushrooms in their homes. The series includes two objects: HerbLAB and MushroomLAB, each consisting of two ceramic bowls topped with glass domes to create a mini-greenhouse. They are decorative objects, which are perfect for growing herbs, sprouts or mushrooms.
The idea was one of Alicja Patanowska’s diploma projects at the Royal College of Art in 2014. The project’s potential was noticed by the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, Poland. The Museum financed the development of the LAB series prototypes for the MODERNA – Crafts and Design exhibition in Helsinki.
The series is included in the collection of the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola.
